Do You Accept Credit Card Online?

By: Hans Hasselfors

If you are building an online shop, you will need to address the question of taking payments for orders. You can, of course, request that a check payment be sent to you in the mail. Most shopping basket software allows you to select this option when you are setting it up. If you already have an offline, bricks and mortar business, you may simply wish to accept credit card payments over the phone.

However, there are some basic problems with these solutions and it all comes down to the way people shop on the internet. Customers expect to be able to add items to their basket and proceed to the checkout to pay. If they then find they must telephone you or print out and send their order, they may simply abandon their order and hop over to another website. Shopping online is all about convenience and if you are unable to provide this, you may be losing customers without even being aware of it.

So, what are your options and what is it all going to cost? Well, the good news is you can do it all very simply and cheaply. Paypal does not have a set-up charge and is a large and trusted online payment processor servicing 78 million accounts worldwide in 56 countries. Your only cost is a small percentage on each sale; a transaction charge. Payments from your website go straight into your Paypal account from where you can transfer amounts to your bank account with the click of a button.

Once you sign up with a payment processor, you can either link to their secure server from your shopping basket facility or build 'add to basket' buttons via a simple web query form. The html generated is then pasted next to items on your web page and your customers will be transferred to a secure server when they go to checkout..

Traditional merchant accounts are normally set up through your own bank and will become integral to your business account. Having your own merchant account gives you the choice of many different online payment gateways. Most, however, do charge a set-up fee, monthly fee and transaction charge.

Just as you would offline, do make sure you research any company you sign up with on the internet. Print out and read their terms and conditions. Take particular notice of where they are operating from, their fees, when and how you will receive your money into your account.

Another point to consider is the question of chargebacks. This happens when a buyer requests a refund of an amount already paid to you. Reasons include not receiving goods ordered or items arriving faulty, damaged or not as described. Sometimes requests are made if the buyers card was used fraudulently.

If the chargeback request is successful, your merchant payment processor will charge you a processing fee. However, some companies will now provide you with insurance against chargebacks inclusive in your monthly fee. It's certainly worth shopping around for the right solution for you but knowing you have done your research will give you some peace of mind.

TOP 11 Creative Ways You Can Use Autoresponder's

By: Shery Ma Belle Arrieta-Russ

Are you using an autoresponder? If not, it is something I would strongly recommend. An email autoresponder sends out a sequence of automated messages (emails) to your contact list. Most common autoresponder's run of a server online. There are also autoresponder software programs that run directly from your computer and connection and sends out the messages the same way outlook works (usually pop3 or IMAP).

Autoresponders are the key to maximizing your profits from your mailing list. Autoresponder's are great for getting better results with less effort. You can simply set up your sequence of messages and forget about it. It is like having someone working for you around the clock without having to pay them. Many of the mailing list providers come with powerful autoresponders. With a good mailing list provider you can be sure to get your emails in the inbox instead of the junk box. In this article Shery gives you 11 useful ways that you can put into practice. Enjoy!

God Bless ,
Matthew McDonald

1. Pick 4 or more articles you've written that have a common theme and put them in an autoresponder series. Announce it on your site as an e-mail course on the go.

2. If you have a page for related links, create a related links file and put it on autoresponder. This can be a one-page e-mail containing 15-50 links that are of interest to your visitors. Put your own promotional texts or blurbs at the top, middle and bottom of the e-mail.

3. Create a fun or trivia quiz, put it up on your site and put the answers in an autoresponder that your visitors can request. This way, you'll know the people who took your quiz.

4. Write reviews of books, music, e-books, sites, software or anything you can think of and put each review (or related reviews) in an autoresponder. If what you are reviewing have affiliate programs, use your affiliate links in the autoresponder.

5. Run a contest on your site or e-zine, then have your visitors or subscribers send their responses to your autoresponder. This way, you won't have to worry about manually sending them a confirmation receipt.

6. Create a frequently updated autoresponder and let your visitors and/or subscribers know about it. You can put in weekly tips or links to useful resources in the autoresponder and a reminder to the people who request it that you update it every week or on a regular basis (e.g. tell them to request for the same autoresponder again a week from now). You can use this method instead of using autoresponders with limited follow up messages.

7. If you've written 20 or more articles and you have them on separate autoresponder accounts, create a master list for your articles. In this master list, list the titles of your articles, their autoresponder addresses and their short descriptions. You can then just promote this master list.

8. Put excerpts or free chapters of your e-book, book or paid e-mail courses in an autoresponder series, then include your follow up sales letters at the end.

9. If you're selling your own products, put your testimonials on autoresponder, along with the description of your products, an excerpt or a free chapter. This will increase your credibility.

10. Keep track of people who download your free e-book, e-report, or free software by putting their download links in an autoresponder. When you promote your free product, you can just promote the autoresponder address.

11. Put links to your hidden pages on autoresponder. A hidden page could be the affiliate page where you have all the graphics, text links, promotional articles that interested affiliates can use.

12. Let people know they can have free access to your affiliate page by requesting the autoresponder. This way, you can have a list of people who are interested in becoming your affiliates.

How Pay Per Click Advertising Works?

By: Christoher Enders

PPC advertising is simply advertising your website through the use of the pay-per-click search engines. To grasp an understanding of ppc advertising, you need to understand what a pay-per-click search engine is if you don't know already. A pay-per-click search engine is basically a search engine that takes the guesswork out of getting top-ranking in a search engine and in effect, enables you to buy your rank so to speak.

When using a ppc search engine you bid on keywords or keyword phrases that your targeted prospects may use to find whatever your website offers. When you outbid competitors that have bid on the same keyword or keyword phrase, your website will be ranked over theirs. Because you "pay-per-click", you only get charged your bid amount for actual visits to your site that result from your ppc advertising rather than being charged a flat fee for placing an ad.

Some pay-per-click search engine services, like Yahoo! Search Marketing for instance, only consider the bid amount in ranking a site. Others, like Google Adwords, may also consider the popularity of an ad based on click through rates in ranking a website. For the purpose of ppc advertising, this is really a good thing because it enables those with relevant products or services to achieve a decent ranking even if they don't have an enormous ppc advertising budget. It is also good for those using the search engines to find information because relevant, popular ppc advertisements will appear in their search results.

The most popular ppc advertising options include Google Adwords and Yahoo! Search Marketing (formerly known as Overture). Google because it is the most widely used search engine and Yahoo! Search Marketing because it provides listings in several search engines including Yahoo!, MSN, Alta Vista, and Netscape as well as others.

The first step to designing an effective and profitable ppc advertising campaign is to determine your budget. Budgeting for ppc advertising involves not only determining how much money you can spend on your ppc advertising campaign, but basing that on the monetary value of a click to your website since you are paying per click.

Throughout your ppc advertising campaign you must monitor it to be sure that you are getting a good return on your investment.

Your conversion rate, the number of unique visitors divided by the number of sales, plays an important role in determining the value of a click to your site for ppc advertising budgeting purposes as does the average net profit per sale. By dividing your net profit per sale by your conversion rate, you can accurately determine the value per click to your website. The price per click that you pay for your ppc advertising should not exceed this value. If it does, you will be spending too much on your ppc advertising and you won't get any return on your investment.

Of course, it is ideal to pay less than the value per click so that your ppc advertising will generate profit rather than eating up your revenues. To boost conversion rates it is vital that you use relevant keywords that will put your site in front of those most interested in what you are offering. However, if the bids on a choice keyword are too high, a little brainstorming combined with a keyword analysis through Wordtracker will give you additional ideas for keywords for your ppc advertising that have lower bids on them and may be just as effective. You may also get some ideas for keywords by looking at your competitors' source code to see what they are using.

Reports from your ppc advertising provider will help you to monitor your ppc advertising. Also, the information provided through web logs will tell you where your traffic is coming from so you can determine which ppc advertising bids are performing the best. If you approach ppc advertising logically and monitor it regularly making adjustments as needed, ppc advertising is a powerful tool for profitably driving traffic your website.

Google Adsense Guide!

By: eMarketingForYou (Google Adsense Guide)!

You’ve probably heard a lot about Google AdSense (which is actually more accurately known as Google AdSense V1), but you may not know just what it is. Well, for one thing, it’s a one of the hottest new ways to make money online without having to do a whole lot. If you’ve read Robert Kiyosaki’s book, “Rich Dad, Poor Dad,” you know that passive income is the best kind of income to have.

Passive income is income that you get without having to work for it. I know this may sound like some kind of “pie in the sky” get-rich-quick scheme, but passive income is for real. In fact, every single billionaire on earth uses the power of passive income to keep money coming in while he or she jets off to parties and resorts and such.

The best example of passive income in the physical world is real estate. When you own an apartment building and hire a property manager and a maintenance crew to take care of it for you and collect the rents, all you have to do is cash the checks that roll in.

Of course, passive income doesn’t just happen overnight, or everyone would be getting it. In the case of the apartment building owner, it took money, time, and knowledge to set up an S corporation, find a building to buy, put up the cash to buy it with and get a loan for the rest, renovate it, then screen and hire the property manager and maintenance crew. But once that was all done, checks began rolling in with little or no effort.

Well, Google Adsense is the online equivalent of that. You’ll have to invest just a little bit of time in learning about it, but once you get it set up you can look forward to seeing those nice checks roll in. Or, if you’re totally online, seeing money flow into your PayPal account.

So What Is Google Adsense?

Google AdSense is a fast and absolutely ridiculously easy way for people with websites of all types and sizes to put up and display relevant Google ads on the content pages of their site and earn money.

Because the Google AdSense ads relate to what your visitors came to your site to read about, or because the ads match up to the interests and characteristics of the kind of people your content attracts, you now have a way to improve your content pages AND make some serious bucks off of them.

AdSense is also a way for site owners to provide Google search capability to visitors and to earn even more money by putting Google ads on the search results pages. Google AdSense gives you the ability to earn advertising revenue from every single page on your website—with a minimal investment of your time

So what kind of ads do you have to put up? That’s the good part—you don’t have to decide. Google does it for you. AdSense always delivers relevant ads that are precisely targeted—on a page-by-page basis—to the content that people find on your site. For example, if you have a page that tells the story of your pet fish, Google will send you ads for that site that are for pet stores, fish food, fish bowls, aquariums…you get the picture.

If you decide you want to add a Google search box to your site, then AdSense will deliver relevant ads targeted to the Google search results pages that your visitors’ search request generated.

Here’s the thing you need to know: Google has no strict criteria for acceptance into the AdSense program, and Ad Sense doesn’t hit you with a minimum traffic requirement. The only criteria they’re really sticky about is the standard “acceptable content” requirements, and that’s pretty standard almost anywhere.

Google AdSense says they’re serious about attracting quality content sites, and because of that they only allow AdSense members to serve one ad per page. This means you can’t use AdSense for both banners and skyscrapers.(Note: banners are those horizontal ads that run up top and down bottom. Skyscrapers are the tall ads that run vertically, on the left and right of your page text.)

Once you’ve been accepted into Google AdSense, you’ll be able to get the AdSense advertisements on any site you own using the same ad code, provided you obey the Google guidelines. (And that’s very, very important—more on that later.)

Your reporting doesn’t occur in real time, but is updated regularly throughout the day. Right now, you can’t view reports based on a domain or site basis if you run the AdSense on more than one site.

What Can It Do For Me?

In three words, earn you money. More relevant ads on your pages translates into more clicks—and more money that you receive. Because when users click on an ad, Google will pay you. If you’ve set up your own sales team, you’ll get an additional benefit: AdSense complements their efforts. It doesn’t compete with them. With AdSense, you get a reporting page that gives you a breakdown on how your ads are doing and what they’re bringing in.

Google has a huge advertiser base, so they have ads for all kinds of businesses and for just about every type of content no matter how broad or specialized it is. And since Google provides the ads, you don’t have to spend time talking to your advertisers.

AdSense represents advertisers that span the spectrum. These advertisers range from large global brands to small and local companies. And ads are targeted by geography so global businesses can display local advertising easily. One more thing: you can use AdSense in many languages.

So how does AdSense figure out how to do all this targeted advertising? Well, AdSense has the ability to deliver relevant ads because the gurus at Google understand how web pages really work and they’re continually refining their technology to make it smarter all the time.

For example, some words can have several different meanings depending on context. You’ve seen th is happen with “two” and “too” and “to.” Google technology is smart enough to understand these distinctions from the context that the word appears in, so you get more targeted ads.

When you put a Google search box on your site you start making money off of web searches that people do on your site.

This ability to search off of your page keeps them on your site longer—since they can search from right there where they are—and it will only take you a few minutes to get AdSense up and running. The best part, of course, is that AdSense is free for you to use.

What Kinds Of Ads Will Google Adsense Put On My Site?

Obviously, there are some kinds of ads you wouldn’t want to have on your site, such as pornographic ones or ads for sleazy multi-level marketing schemes that scream “Make $30,000 a month just for watching TV!” in big red letters.

Well, you can put your mind at ease. Google has an ad review process that checks the ads they send to your site. This process ensures that the ads that you serve up are family-friendly and that they comply with Google’s strict editorial guidelines.

Google’s ad-screening team combines sensitive language filters, input from site owners like you, and a team of linguists with good old common sense to filter out ads that could be inappropriate for your content. And if that’s not enough, you have to capability to block competitive ads and choose your own default ads.

That’s another nice feature: Google kind of lets you run your own show.

Now, another thing you might be concerned about is whether the ads will clash with the look, feel, and colors scheme you’ve got going with your site. Don’t worry. You can customize the appearance of ads and choose from a wide range of colors and templates. Same thing goes for your search results page. And reports are customizable, too. Google provides flexible reporting tools that allow you to group your pages any which way you want.

That means you can view your results by URL, domain, ad type, category and more so that you can figure out where your earnings are coming from.

How Do I Get Started With Google Adsense?

It’s easy to get started with AdSense and it only takes a few minutes. You fill out one single online application and that’s it.

Once you're approved, it takes only minutes to set up AdSense; all you have to do is copy and paste a designated block of HTML into the source code for your site. Once you do that, targeted ads will start showing up on your website.

What Are Users Saying About Adsense?

It’s one thing to hear about all the great advantages Google AdSense offers, including how it can make money for you in your sleep. But it’s another thing to hear comments from real, live people. Here are a few of my favorites.

“We’re seeing this impressive new revenue stream without incurring any cost. We’re maximizing our previously unsold inventory, and our revenue per page figure continues to grow.”
- Scott Zucker, Executive VP and COO, Intelligent Content Corp, PetPlace.com
“It took no time at all to copy and post the code on individual pages, and it fits well with our content management system and with the look and feel of all our pages.”
- Steve Larson, Founder, Our-Hometown.com
“Instead of spending money to hire an additional sales rep to sell ad banners, Google ads have become a virtual sales tool for us. Now we’re able to reap thousands of dollars in additional advertising revenue each month that we would very likely have missed without Google AdSense.”
- Robert Hoskins, Editor and Group Publisher, Broadband Wireless Exchange
“Google shows targeted ads reflecting the sorts of information and services SeatGuru visitors want. For a small business like mine, this is the best approach to advertising. You set it up easily, it automatically serves relevant ads, and it takes very little of my time.”
- Matt Daimler, Founder, SeatGuru.com
“At the beginning I was very concerned that I might lose traffic to competitors. I only used AdSense on a limited number of the site’s pages, and I watched the stats very carefully. If the traffic, pages per visitor, or conversion rates dropped I knew I could easily pull the ads...Since implementing AdSense, our ad revenue has increased more than tenfold, and 100 percent of my available inventory is now sold through AdSense.”
- Vik Kachoria, Entrepreneur, Real Adventure.

Am I Going To Make A lot Of Money Off This?

While we can’t guarantee results, of course, since a lot of your success lies in your own hands, we wouldn’t have written this book if we didn’t believe in the power of Google AdSense. A lot of webmasters are making a lot of money off of AdSense, and there’s no reason you shouldn’t be one of them.

The amount of money you can make with Google AdSense mainly depends on what user needs your Website fills. For instance, a site about women’s issues can make some serious bucks on AdSense because of the high level of competition for related keywords.

The CPC (cost per click) is the amount you get paid every time a user clicks on one of those ad banners. CPC rates for competitive keywords can be more than $1, which translates directly to your site’s earning potential within the program.

However, if you’re in a less competitive market, you’ll make less money—that’s just a fact of life. Still, it’s unusual to see anyone using Google AdSense report earnings of less than an effective $1 CPM (cost per 1000 impressions), and the average runs in the range of $4-$5 CPM. Some people are making an effective CPM of $15 or more with AdSense. Oh, and best yet, this is all after Google takes its commission.

About that commission…commission is definitely one thing is that’s a little bit ambiguous with AdSense. Google doesn’t publicize it’s “cut”, and only displays the publisher’s cut in proprietary member reports, so getting good, accurate information on this has been difficult.

To date, comparisons of AdWords rates with AdSense earnings add up to commissions of between 40% and 60%. People speculate all the time on user boards as to why Google refuses to publish its commission rates, but no one has the answer. It might have something to do with legal reasons or it could just be that Google wants to retain the ability to change rates without having to send out an announcement about it each time, which costs money.

You Can Still Get a Mortgage to Buy a House...Even You Have Bad Credit!

By: John R. Blakefield

Unfortunately bad credit can haunt you for the rest of your life. If there are bankruptcies or foreclosures on your credit report, you know how hard it is to get any line of credit. Lenders and creditors simply look to as a too big of risk to loan money to.

But we know that even though mistakes were made in the past, your financial situation and behavior can be reformed. Some lenders understand this as well, and the sub prime lending market has grown and become very competitive. The lending market can be broken up into two main segments, the prime, those with average to good credit who are not huge financial risks. Then there is the sub prime market, with those who have poor to very bad or no credit.

Lenders can give ratings to a certain sub prime client giving them a rating from A-D: A being the best rating and D being the worst. When you fall into the C or D category, you are considered very high risk and more likely to default on a loan than that of a person with an A or B rating.

Sub prime lenders generally give loans to even the highest of risk cases. They look at the same information that a prime lender would look at to evaluate the type mortgage you can have.

They look at credit history, income, expenses and long term debt. If you do have foreclosures, bankruptcies, delinquent payments, and outstanding debt, they will take all of this into consideration.

If you can show steady employment, a good income, an effort to pay back the money you owe and are doing it in a timely fashion, you are more likely to get a better rate than that of someone who is not taking any steps to fix their credit.

Sub prime lenders can loan the money you need by protecting themselves. They do this through higher rates and fees that prime lenders would not charge. Be careful, because some sub prime lenders will take advantage of your poor credit history and charge a ridiculous amount in fees and charge you a too high of interest rate even for a poor credit case.

Fortunately for the consumer, this sub prime market is extremely competitive and you do not have to accept the first lender who offers to loan you money. You actually have the luxury to shop around and compare rates, even for the worst of credit cases! So check online for tools that can aid you in finding and comparing sub prime lenders. The internet is a good place to start your research.

You can also ask for referrals from family, friends and even local bank.

Don't allow credit mistakes in the past to dictate how you live your life today. Buying a home is still an option regardless of your credit history. And, as long as the sub prime market continues to be competitive, you, the consumer is at a huge advantage.

It is always a good idea to take steps to repair your credit, and buying a home can aid in this.

If you make you mortgage payments on time every month, then you can watch your credit grow!

Sub prime lenders specialize in this area, so allow them you help you make your credit score even better!

Be sure the sub prime lender you use is trustworthy and qualified. There are sharks in the industry, so be sure to ask for referrals and look at licenses. So go buy your home and repair your credit at the same time!

Take advantage of the opportunities you have at your fingertips.

So what is a BLOG? Simply put, it is someone writing a diary online that other people can follow. We are living in a time where everyone online is talking about blogs and blogging themselves! You can do a google blog search to find blogs on just about enything and everything. Read this article carefully, and you will see what a great impact a blog can have on you and your business. Read it, and increase your knowledge!

God Bless ,
Matthew McDonald

A blog usually is a web page that contains brief, discrete hunks of information called posts. These posts are arranged in reverse-chronological order (the most recent come first) and each is uniquely identified by an anchor tag which is marked with a permanent link that can be referred to by others who wish to link to it.

A blog is a means of communication and there are many different types of messages carried by blogs. Some are nothing but pointers to other web sites, while others run long essays, some are personal diaries, others feature technology, and some are edited by one person, others by teams.

There are hundreds of thousands of blogs on the Internet, and new blogs are created every day. Can anybody and more importantly can you blog? Yes, there are bloggers of all types, equipped with all levels of technical skills. Bloggers approach their sites with as much variety and passion as the general Net public approaches the Web itself.

The most commonly used blogging tool is Blogger. It requires the least amount of commitment in time or resources, allowing you to go from wanting a blog to having one in about five minutes and at no cost. The Blogger software is the property of Pyra Labs (www.pyra.com). Blogger is often credited as the reason for the explosion of blogging that’s occurred in the last couple of years.

It is a web-based tool, requiring no installation of software on your personal computer or on your server if you happen to have a web site. You access the tool through the Blogger web site (http://blogger.com) and the blog pages are posted to your web site or to Pyra’s BlogSpot (http://blogspot.com) community blog server. For more detailed information on this see O’Reilly’s Essential Blogging.

Re-read anything before you publish. Electronic text can expose unintended meaning easily and it will also make what you say a lot more focused. If nothing else, it should help you catch spelling mistakes! Blogging is a way to share your opinions and thoughts to the rest of the world. If you post interesting things, share links with other bloggers and post comments on other blogs. Linking is the way of the Web that is the key of successful blogging.

In order to keep your blogs really fresh, invite a group of your friends / colleagues and give them blogging access. That way you will have several reporters blogging information and you won’t end up killing yourself, trying to keep your blog populated with good information. If you use Blogger, upgrade to Blogger Pro. You can have your team post to the blog from email, create and syndicate your blog as an RSS feed, and a whole lot more!

Adding the ability to post comments on your blog extends interactivity and usefulness to the blog itself. Blogs are about community and information, and commenting is a real way to gauge your viewer’s blogging efforts. Blogging is one of the quickest ways to update your site.

Syndicating others’ blogs into your own site is another. There is a wealth of information out there – just tap into it!

TOP TEN Tips for Blogging

By: S. Housley

Tips for creating a blog
There are no hard and fast rules on how to blog. Having said that, bloggers will likely increase their exposure by following some simple blog guidelines.

1.) Stay on topic.
Opinions are generally accepted but the content of the items in the blog should all relate to a general theme. Unless you have an uncanny knack for wit, humor or cynicism, the majority of your readers will be interested in the content that relates to a specific defined theme or loosely defined area of interest. Most readers won't care that you eat Cheerios for breakfast. They may, however, be interested in the fact that vinegar takes out stains and that toilet paper rolls make great wreaths. Define a topic and stick to it. This will ensure that you create a loyal following of interested readers.
2.) Stay informative.
If you are attempting to create the impression that you are knowledgeable about a specific industry or sector, be sure that you stay current on news. If you are endorsing a product or voicing an opinion, be sure to check your facts; your reputation is at stake. If you are offering an opinion, be sure to qualify your post, making it clear that the content is intended as an editorial.

3.) Old news is not news.
While blogging every day can be a drain, it is important that the information presented is current and accurate, writing an article or blurb about something that happened 6 months ago, will not be of interest to many. Telling your audience that Martha Stewart was convicted and will be going to prison, after her sentence is completed will make people question the value of your columns.

4.) Adhere to a schedule.
Create a schedule and stick to it. Realizing that blogging requires time and effort, don't create unrealistic expectations and be unable to deliver. An occasional lapse or holiday is generally understood but readers returning to find stale, out-dated content are going to find another blog with similar content. New blogs and RSS feeds are popping up on a daily basis. If you have worked hard to develop an audience and a community you don't want to lose them due to lack of communication.

5.) Clarity and simplicity.
Keep your posts and blog entries clear and easy to understand. Remember, the web is global and expressions, idioms and acronyms don't always translate. Sometimes a little explanation goes a long way.

6.) Keyword-rich.
If the goal of your blog is to increase your visibility, include related keywords in the title of the blog. Use the title as a headline to attract interest. Each item post should have a title that will attract attention but still be relevant to the post. The title should be no longer than 10-12 words.

7.) Quantity matters.
In order to attract the attention of search engines, you will need to develop content and substance. A headline or simple sentence is not going to generate the interest of readers or help with search engine ranking. Be sure to archive old blog posts to develop a large portal of similarly-themed content.

8.) Frequency.
If your blog content is updated frequently, search engines will tend to spider the pages at regular intervals.

9.) Spell checking and proof-reading.
It only takes a few extra moments and can save you from having to make embarrassing explanations. Remember that whatever you publish on the Internet can be found and archived. Think carefully about what you post before doing so.

10.) RSS.
RSS will increase your blog's reach. It is important that you include your blog's content in an RSS feed to increase readership and distribution.

Most weblog audiences are small, but with time and regular updates audiences grow.

loggers may never have more than a few hundred readers, but the people who return to regularly are generally interested in what you have to say.

Professional Search Engine Marketing Or Do It Yourself ?

By Christopher J Enders Platinum Quality Author

Professional search engine marketing can sometimes be costly which encourages website operators to do their own search engine optimization and manage their own pay-per-click campaigns even though professional services has definite benefits.

If you would like to put forth the effort to learn about search engine marketing, to devise your own marketing campaign and to manage the marketing process yourself rather than obtaining the assistance of a professional service, then I certainly wish you the best in your pursuit.

I strongly believe that internet business operators, or any business owners for that matter, should take advantage of the opportunity to save money any time they can.

However, we should all also be conscious of the time and effort that we put into our businesses and consider the cost savings and other benefits that might be realized if we were to outsource some activities that don't necessarily utilize our expertise.

Professional search engine marketing is one of those outsource services to be contemplated.

The obvious advantage of doing your own search engine marketing is cost savings.

On the flip-side is the disadvantage of time spent learning about search engine marketing and actually designing, implementing and managing the search engine marketing campaign.

Another advantage of doing it yourself is, you will learn more about your industry and the use of data from website logs and pay-per-click programs that will be useful to you in developing your business strategy now and in the future.

You may even come up with some superb ideas for expansions or for marketing your company that you otherwise would not have thought of.

Professional search engine marketing services that you might consider include market research, keyword research, search engine optimization, development of keyword copy, development of strategic coding on your website, and the design and implementation of linking campaigns.

Pay-per-click planning and implementation which consists of research, strategizing, budgeting, bidding, development of advertising copy, and campaign management or additional services that are offered by professional search engine marketing providers.

In making the "do-it-yourself versus outsourcing" decision, you may consider outsourcing some of the tasks while taking personal responsibility for others, or delegating some of the duties to members of your staff or marketing team.

The main benefits of contracting a professional search engine marketing company or specialist are access to individuals who are experienced and have expertise in the field of search engine marketing and time savings.

Search engine marketing is not an easy task and it certainly has the potential of taking time away from other business development activities that could use your attention.

There is a definite learning curve to be considered if you intend to do your own search engine marketing, especially in regard to search engine optimization.

Pay-per-click campaign development and management isn't too hard to learn and manage; however, search engine optimization which enables you to improve your website's rank in the search engines without spending precious advertising dollars is a bit more difficult to grasp.

You see, the search engines' main function is to provide users of the search services with the best possible results that relate to the keyword terms used.

Thus, the search engines frequently change their rules regarding how they rank websites, probably to weed out the websites that spam the search engines in attempt to get a good search engine rank when they really aren't offering high quality information in regard to what the search engine users are looking for.

If search engine optimization is not your profession, you'll likely have a hard time keeping up with search engine optimization techniques that are effective while a professional provider of search engine optimization services would be more apt to keep up with effective strategies.
